Social Action
Unitarian Universalists have a long history of caring for the community and taking action on important social issues. Our congregation is no different. The challenges of Covid may be affecting our ability to engage in social action initiatives presently, but in the past we have renovated homes with AmeriCares Homefront, been major donors for Fred's Food Pantry in nearby Peekskill, and attended rallies and marches for issues such as Abortion Rights, Marriage Equality, and Climate Justice. Even our youth have been involved, participating in Hudson River Cleanups, Midnight Runs, and fundraising for various causes.
Social Action Initiatives
The Fourth Unitarian Society encourages those with a justice passion to follow this path:
- find a team of at least 4 others at 4th UU to work with you.
- submit to the Board a general outline of what your team would like to accomplish
- as long as the work of your team supports the values and principles of our faith community, you will be encouraged to forge ahead!
